Chá com Poesia: Ezra Pound & Anne Sexton em tradução

                     A Girl
                 [Ezra Pound]

The tree has entered my hands,
The sap has ascended my arms,
The tree has grown in my breast -
Downward,
The branches grow out of me, like arms.

Tree you are,
Moss you are,
You are violets with wind above them.
A child - so high - you are,
And all this is folly to the world.

                Uma Garota

          [Tradução de Leonardo Alves]

A árvore adentrou minhas mãos

A seiva ascendeu meus braços

A árvore cresceu em meu peito -

Inclinados,

Os galhos crescem fora de mim, como membros.

Você é a árvore

O Musgo

As violetas que o vento acolhe

Uma criança - tão digna - você é

E tudo isso é tolice para o mundo.

       Old
              [Anne Sexton]

I'm afraid of needles.
I'm tired of rubber sheets and tubes.
I'm tired of faces that I don't know
and now I think that death is starting.
Death starts like a dream,
full of objects and my sister's laughter.
We are young and we are walking
and picking wild blueberries.
all the way to Damariscotta.
Oh Susan, she cried.
you've stained your new waist.
Sweet taste —
my mouth so full
and the sweet blue running out
all the way to Damariscotta.
What are you doing? Leave me alone!
Can't you see I'm dreaming?
In a dream you are never eighty.

Passado

e colhendo amoras silvestres
a caminho de Damariscotta.

Oh Susan, ela resmungou
você manchou o seu vestido.
Doce aroma –
minha boca tão cheia
e o doce azul se esgotando
a caminho de Damariscotta.
O que você está fazendo? Deixe-me em paz!
Você não vê que estou sonhando?
Em um sonho você nunca envelhece.
